Priscilla Alden Circle met at Mrs. Ben Spitzbarth's home for Bible study and a dessert luncheon with twelve members. Next gathering at Mrs. Clarence Pixler's home with Mrs. Grace Owens co hostess. A pot luck supper hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson and family of Wilmington, California, at the Shelter House last Tuesday night drew numerous Cherokee-area attendees. The United Church Women held a May Fellowship Tea at Mount Olive Baptist Church with about 50 guests, themed One family under God, featuring an organ prelude, worship call, readings, a litany, and a solo performance.

Mrs. Wesley Nelson hosted speaker Harlan Moen of Cherokee on a theme One Family Under God at Mt Olive. The Congregational Women served 150 at an April 21 evening meal. Officers of the Northwestern Association of the United Church of Christ were elected with members from Primghar Sheldon LeMars and other towns attending.

Barbara Page of Kingsley is president with Larry Ferguson of Whiting as vice president Patricia Willey of Primghar as secretary and Connie Ruth of Whiting as treasurer. Thirteen members and three guests attended a 1:00 luncheon hosted by Mrs Beth Shank. Pinochle was played at four tables with prizes won by Mrs John Irwin high Mrs Pat Judas low and Mrs Ralph Morgan traveling. Next meeting set for June 7 at Mrs John C Peterson’s home with hosting 2:00. Mayflower circle met with Mrs Lon Perry and guests Mrs Myrtle Whiting and Mrs Bert Mummert.

The Memorial Day Flower Committee will prepare bouquets for veterans graves again this year with chairwoman Mrs. A. W. Larson and co chairwoman Mrs. Ray Shaw leading efforts at the Legion Hall.
