The Aurelia Iowa council met chaired by Mayor Grapenthen with five members present. Bills were approved and a $100 monthly advance for three months from the playground fund was authorized for a playground supervisor. The meeting adjourned to a Board of Equalization with Orlo Shank presiding.
Mrs. Quentin Anderson had a birthday dinner with visiting relatives. Numerous locals and guests from Peterson Storm Lake Aurelia Sioux City and Minnesota were listed among callers and social visits throughout the week including D O K E activities in Sioux Falls.
A cleaning solution for woodwork uses one half cup vinegar and one half cup household ammonia to two gallons of water. The recipe yields a simple home mix for surface care and restoration tasks.
The State Conservation Commission removed the catch and possession limit on bullheads in Lost Island Lake for a second year due to an extremely heavy bullhead population and limited natural feed. Other inland waters limit bullheads to 25 per day and 50 in possession.
Funeral services were held for Marilyn Ruth infant daughter of Prof and Mrs Louis Reins Saturday afternoon. A short service at the home followed by burial in the church cemetery. The infant was born Thursday in an Omaha hospital. She is survived by her parents and a sister. Mrs Arling Peterson hosted a ladies gathering at her home April 22 with a social afternoon and a two course lunch. Mr and Mrs Harold Hogrefe and children visited the Zwemke home Sunday evening.

Legion Auxiliary will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday afternoon May 6 in the Legion hall. Hostesses are Ruby Akers Olive Howell Carrie Philpott and Leota Davis. Program leader Gladys Larson presents Poppies. All members urged to be present.
