Mr and Mrs Lester Reckoff hosted a Friday night surprise gathering at their East Afton Elk home attended by about fifty friends. The guests visited played 500 and shared lunch before the Reckoffs left for their new Storm Lake residence.
Father Smith urged paying bonds to fund gas tax and license fee related road improvements. The plan aims to aid the jobless in the county with support from Cherokee visitors including Paul Caswell Randall Jacobs and George Wilson. Frank G. Scott defended road improvements and proposed Community Club joining the Legion in the program. A social luncheon followed.
Mt. Olive community happenings include numerous dinner guests visiting in Cherokee Quimby Aurelia and Holstein areas. Easter services at Mt Olive drew a large crowd and the Ladies Aid planned a covered dish luncheon in Aurelia. Proceeds from a bake sale topped $27 with local families visiting relatives over the weekend.
An eight pound baby girl arrived Friday March 25 at the Rasche home. She has three sisters and one brother. The piece notes local visits and a 31st wedding anniversary for W F Hickey with a reported dinner, plants, and guests. J S Linquist serves on the Grand Jury and A B Lindsay on the Polit jury of Chordkth.
