In a tale from Hatoun's court the Arab poet pleases the Sultan with verses about a horseshoe moon and a godly spur. When the singer repeats the line and fails to improvise anew, the Sultan orders the poet’s head. The fragment ends warning poets elsewhere that beheading awaits for poor invention.
