George Hicks topped the Cherokee mayoral field with 146 votes in Friday cau cuses, ahead of incumbent J A Mc Donald with 132 as Cherokee voters prepare for the March 27 election. Fourteen families were dropped from relief rolls in March per Esther Artist. A hit and run injured Garland Goldie, a Cherokee printer, with doctors noting a possible spinal fracture. Transmission line bids for 117 miles will be reviewed by the county rural electric cooperative at Farm Bureau on March 28.
