Albert Stock begins work at Maple Valley Hatchery while Bert Sones takes over the Aurelia Hotel after a March 1 deal with James Johnson. Masters Sgt George S Fritz arrives overseas in India. March 13 Aurelia Commercial club meets. various social visits noted including Des Moines travel and family gatherings.
Embroidery Club will meet Friday March 10 at the home of Mrs Ed Rice. The text also notes various social visits and address corrections, including Dale Robar and Merle Robar changes and attendance at local funeral services for Glenn Mongan.

Pfe and Keith Wieland arrive from Harlingen for Gunnery School in Salt Lake City on March 16. Community updates include births, visits among the Gregerson and Bates families, and travels of Grote Des Moines and Johnson households. Robert Johnson discharged from the Navy plans a visit to Roscoe California before entering defense work.
After many years of work southeast of Aurelia O B Peters retires from farming but will stay on the home property with his wife. He rents the north eighty to Albert Jesse who moved from Storm Lake to the adjacent farm once owned by Louie Morgan. The south eighty is rented to Swanson Brothers who relocated from the Oren Coombs farm to the Eric Gustafson farm, previously the Clark farm.
Mr and Mrs Lloyd Ruby and daughter Jerilyn moved from Sac City to the mother in law Mrs Anna Anderson. Mr Ruby has been accepted for military service at Camp Dodge induction center choosing the Navy and will be called this month. They left by train Wednesday for Buffalo New York to visit sister Mrs Ralph Thevenin and will stay indefinitely while Mr Ruby remains there until his service begins.
The young Patty, daughter of Robert J. Wilson and his wife, enjoys a large family network. She has a long lineage with one great great grandfather, three great grandfathers, three great grandmothers, two grandmothers, and two grandfathers. Robert J. Wilson’s parents reside in Independence.
