Local notes list island wide visits and church services as Mt Olive community shares weekly events. Mentions include measles reports from Cherokee high school and social visits across Aurelia Storm Lake and Holstein areas. A Mexican president reference notes six firing incidents on inauguration day.
First Grade lists names of students with perfect spelling papers this week and notes a perfect attendance last week with all students scoring one hundred percent. It names many students and notes birthdays and candy treats.
Oscar Swanson and family moved to a farm north of Hartley on Thursday. Mrs. Anna Mann and Harold moved to the Sump farm on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Mummert moved to the Siegel farm vacated by the Manns. Mrs. Miller of Aurelia works at the Menefee home to care for Mr. Menefee. C. C. met with Mrs. Ray Jones. a large crowd attended and gifts were exchanged for Mrs. Scott after her recent fire loss. The club enjoyed prizes and a two course luncheon. next meeting is March 12 with Mrs. Robison. Bowers visited the Zwick home in Cherokee. Odor, Clark Menefee, and Rembrandt folks stopped by. Karl Mummert moved to the farm vacated by Ed Wogahn who moved east of Aurelia. The A F A held an all day meeting at Arthur Funk’s on February 27 with a fine program. A chimney fire alarm at Wm. Dreyer’s residence caused neighbors to respond. no major damage beyond the chimney. Mrs. George Zwick visited Minnesota relatives. A local for sale column is advertised. Try 1¢.
