The American Legion Auxiliary met March 2 at the legion hall. Committees were appointed for the Aurelia county meeting on March 29. Plans were made for a St Patrick's tea on March 17. Mrs. Tom Griffith and Mrs. Edwin Engdahl led a community service program. Mrs. Russell Alen sang two solos with Mrs. O C Waddell on piano. Door prize winner was Mrs. Ray Howell. Lunch was served by Mrs. Arvid Anderson and committee.

Lutheran Brotherhood Sweden program next Wednesday at 7 30 p m. Choir rehearsal next Thursday 7 30 p m. Women’s Missionary Society meeting Friday March 12 at 2 15 p m with Guest Day at the parsonage invite all.
Aurelia junior high boys defeated Cleghorn 32 to 25 to reach the Cherokee County Junior High final as Quimby and Meriden chase girls’ championship. Lenz led Aurelia with 20 points while Peters and Hodge added for Aurelia. Cleghorn, Parks top scorer with 9.
Larson's Store owners announce a self service grocery department opening on Saturday March 6. Briardale coffee cookies and crackers will be free that day as the store adds Briardale groceries fresh fruits vegetables and lunch meats with a new self service counter and reach-in cooling system.
In Odebolt owner Frank Mattes reports an eyewitness to an open house at his newly redecorated restaurant. He plans to add a new moron story to his collection if the person is identified.
Aurelia junior high fell 17 to 15 to Storm Lake last Thursday afternoon at home. Storm Lake led 15 to 11 at the half. Aurelia rallied but could not overcome the deficit. Lenz scored 6 for Aurelia while Kerchoff led Storm Lake with 12.
Farmers across Aurelia and surrounding townships relocate on March 1. Families move between farms in Spring township, Aurelia area, and nearby towns including Cherokee Alta Rembrandt Peterson and Mt. Olive areas, with several farms changing occupants and ownership.
A group of business men met at the E. P. hall Monday night to plan Aurelia baseball for the season and push for lights for the field. They will meet again Friday to hear from a General Electric representative and aim for a salaried team if enthusiasts can organize.
