The American Legion Auxiliary will hold a 1:30 salad luncheon at the Community Building on Tuesday July 6. New officers will be installed at the meeting. All members are urged to attend. A bridal shower for Cindy Robinson was held last Tuesday at Mrs. Celia Daniels home with red white and blue decorations.
Embroidery Club met for an 8 30 breakfast on June 18 with 16 members. The group served by Group No 2 conducted the business led by Mrs Harry Pingel and contributed to the Good Will Camp fund. Members will handle coffee for the July 4 Family Night picnic at the city park. Next meeting with Mrs Esther Johnson on July 2 at two o clock. The Women s Fellowship of the Congregational United Church of Christ met June 17 with Dorchester Circle as hostesses. Mrs Grace Mummert led the program with Dorchester speaker Delmar Ducommon of Sutherland showing Israel slides. Mrs Sheryl Namanny sang and devotions by Mrs Larry Carlson assisted by Mrs Ladell Rapp interpreting the Lord s Prayer. Mrs Floyd Swanson led the business meeting. Next fellowship set for July 15 with Mrs Mildred Anderson as program chairman and Mayflower Circle as hostesses. Hazel Hicks hosted the Martin Clan for their 71st reunion at Aurelia City Park.
About 100 attendees joined a Sunset Knoll Retirement Home Open House featuring a Bicentennial theme. Volunteers organized refreshments and floral decor while residents Martha Hinkeldey, Minna Lau, and C J Johnson welcomed guests. Eighty five certificates of appreciation honored individuals and groups supporting residents.
Ruby Gano expresses gratitude for the cards flowers and visits she received during a stay at Sioux Valley Hospital. She thanks Dr Berge and Pastor King for their care and support.
Dorothy Shaw thanks friends and relatives for cards flowers and calls while in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital and St Lukes Medical Center. She thanks Pastor King for calls and prayers and notes many acts of kindness were greatly appreciated.
Harold V. and Lela J. Nelson express gratitude to friends and relatives for their kindness and generosity that made their Golden Wedding Anniversary enjoyable and memorable, saying their thoughtfulness will never be forgotten and God bless you all.
