Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bengtson of Aurelia attended the 20th annual Felco Lakes Conference for cooperative supervisory employees at Lake Okoboji last week. The event drew more than 600 attendees including employees and families to discuss changes and trends in cooperative agriculture.
Fire Insurance Joane Peck returned home June 20 after a week at Band Camp at Morningside College in Sioux City. Mrs Peck and Mary Beth attended the concert at Epley Auditorium Sunday afternoon. Mrs O S Nelson and Mrs Bill Fox attended the wedding of Marilyn Schadegg and Tom Mark at Roe Chapel, St Olaf College, Northfield Minnesota, Saturday.
Bob Forbes thanks the Fire Department for prompt help when the air conditioning motor overheated during a trip in Canada. Gratitude is expressed for the department’s assistance.
The Aurelia Iowa Zoning Commission recommends amending Section 8 Sub-section D of Ordinance 507 to raise minimum lot sizes for three and four family dwellings. A public hearing is set at Town Hall July 16 1971 7 30 PM with written comments due by 4 00 PM the same day.
The Aurelia Community School District board will meet on July 12, 1971 at 8:00 P.M. in the Superintendent’s Office. Taxpayers may be heard for or against the budget estimate and copies of Schedule 632‑A are available on request. Signed by Secretary D C Gaudian.
The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors meets in regular adjourned session with all members present. Minutes from the previous meeting are read and approved. Audit-approved county claims include domestic animal claims for Melvin Roepke Helen Coupe Bob Miller and Robert Rhea with sums for sheep hens a cow in calf and calves.
Meeting records list multiple livestock claims and reimbursements including puflets lambs ewes goslings and lambs dead and injured with totals. Actions include refund of overcharge on a dog tag and compromise of an institutional lien on Frances Elaine Woltman with property described and a warrant duplicate issued. The session adjourned after salary adjustment items for Social Services were approved.
