Congregational circles meet July 7 at W C Patten Cherokee home Pricilla Alden Henry Reitz home and Mary and Mayflower circles plan park picnics The Gulbranson reunion held June 26 near Alta with 55 members attending from several towns Mrs Allen Lee presided Officers elected include Mrs Virgil Willcott Sac City President Mrs Griff Combs Alta Vice President and Mrs Noel Coombs Alta Secretary Treasurer A lunch was served and the year reported one wedding four births and two deaths A 1956 reunion is set for Aurelia Park Four showers honored Miss Beverly Erdman June 9 at Cherokee and June 16 at Afton Community Center with extensive decorations and gifts Mrs David Trapp presided over reception duties and guests numbered around 70 Secret Sisters Pinochle Club crowned with a birthday party June 24 at Maurice Hanson home Other gatherings include the Eta Gaba Club dinner at A W Larson home and a June 23 Women’s Christian Service meeting at the Methodist Church Parlors with 22 members present The Peterson family hosted a farewell to Dr Loren Peterson and family with multiple relatives in attendance and the Friendship Club planned a July 17 picnic at Aurelia shelter house A county Ramblers all-day skirt making session closed the list of local socials and reunions.

A group of 21 girls gathered to celebrate a sixteenth birthday with gifts and swimming at Holstein after supper. A separate picnic supper honored newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Darwin McConkey at the Lorenz Roth home with many guests including local couples and families from Galva and Storm Lake.
