WSCS met at the Methodist church parlors with 33 members. New president Mrs Walter Peterson presided as Mrs Harry Wilson led devotions. A program on The World Beginning In My Community was given by Mrs Garland Hickey Mrs Carl Fuhrman and Mrs LeRoy Hench. Guests were hosted by Mrs Merryl Schulke and Mrs Ted Schulke. Out of town guests included Mrs Sam Yates and Mrs Earl Webb.

Obituary: Local Farmer Dies at Hanover Community
On March 6 1907 the farmer began farming at his home place and had three children. In 1927 the family moved to Hanover and joined St John’s Lutheran Church. Survived by daughters Hilda Velma son Harold and brother Albert of Aurelia. Wife died August 29 1944. Funeral services June 12 at 1 30 pm at home and 2 15 pm at church with Pastor Lammers officiating. Burial in Hanover cemetery Wharton Funeral Home in charge.

Dandelions Digging Child Rescues Garden Plants
Mrs. Irene Wilcox of Adel spent a busy afternoon digging dandelions. She bagged them for disposal, but 4-year-old Tommy Wilcox used his toy tractor to replant and water them. The dandelions grew back healthy.
