Ten years ago in Aurelia Mr and Mrs L H Daniels left for Joplin Missouri to live. A new 90 foot truss bridge over the Maple between the McAndrew and Paulaon farms was planned. J N Rice and Henry Stieneke drew lots to choose Pitcher township trustee with Stieneke winning. Local baseball saw Aurelia win 1 to 0 in 13 innings upending Cherokee, then 2 to 1 at Cherokee. J C Lockin of Aurelia elected secretary of Morningside College board in Sioux City.

Tragic Drowning Shocks Mt Olive Community
Guy Kirsch died while swimming in the Sioux River near Cherokee while Rob McMurrian tried to save him. Kirsch, formerly of this area, had many friends here and his death leaves his bereaved family, especially his invalid father, in sorrow.

Aurelia plans a flag pole in the center of Main Street at the Farmers National Bank corner. The pole would stand eighty to ninety feet high and cost about $200. A subscription raised $180. the remainder to be secured before a July Fourth dedication.

Storm Lake, Ta, June 13 Special Leonard Mallery son of Postmaster William Mallery of Galva drowned in Storm Lake this afternoon at 3 o'clock. He and a companion were bathing and used a raft. he dived and did not resurface.
