Wiles Groff known locally as W. M. Groff died at his Aurelia home Sunday June 7 1914 at 9 50 after seven years of bronchial asthma. Born August 21 1837 in Pennsylvania he moved with his family to Marshalltown Iowa married Nancy Elden and had eleven children. The family lived in Cherokee Boone and Aurelia with several members present at his funeral conducted by Rev Hoon at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
