In Albia Rev and Mrs Robert D Hunt were consecrated to foreign mission service and will sail soon for Preetown South Africa. Rev Hunt is a native of Albia.
Get-to-Gether club met at Mrs. Gertrude Parrott's home. Memorial Day dinners and family gatherings were hosted by the Mummerts. Out of town guests visited Mr. and Mrs. Pierson and Magnussens prepared to leave for Sweden. Birthday and shower parties were held for Mrs. Ervil Rapp and Miss Kaskey, with prizes and lunch. Families and relatives hosted dinners and games at several homes and Legion hall events.
Widespread confusion over legality of trolling with a motor on Iowa inland waters. Conservation Commission officials state it is illegal. G L Ziemer notes a bill to allow trolling on several lakes failed to pass, leaving the existing law in effect.
Grinnell residents watched a well equipped freshman attempt fishing through an open manhole last week. The prank, staged by upperclassmen, was a lighthearted hazing incident not involving mental illness.

Rock Valley reports 18 month old Wanda Wesse link drowned after falling into a stock tank while playing in the farm yard. The incident adds to rural accident fatalities in Iowa last week.
A billfold found on a Sicilian battlefield after the owner was killed was returned to Everett Baker’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Baker of Red Oak, last week. It held his motor vehicle operator’s permit and a good luck token.
