Fight Duel For a Girl in Fort Dodge
A note from Fort Dodge reports a fanciful duel attempt between two young men over a girl. Instead of pistols at thirty paces, they fought with baths at close range, with seconds and onlookers mediating as required by a medieval tone. One combatant bears a mourning eye. The tale, muddled by errors, also lists assorted grain prices and stray names.
