Summer calendar lists practices and games for City League Jr High and minors majors with multiple make up dates. High school results show Aurelia defeating Mapleton Lake Park Hartley and district action Albert City Truesdale vs Westwood and Spirit Lake with Ft Dodge looming in Cedar Rapids.
The City League lists games from July 29 to August 5 featuring Reds Greens Blues Blacks in minors and majors. Key matchups include Reds v Greens minors 6 30 Reds v Greens majors 8 00 and Reds v Blues majors make up at 8 00.
Local households welcomed relatives and friends from across the region. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gordy and family of Richmond Indiana spent a night with Rev. Elmer Boom and their three older boys stayed through the week. Dr. R D Berge hosted family from Columbus Ohio and Mrs. Lewis Larsen Elk Horn. Crystal Bailey of Sioux City visits grandmother Ruby Jauter for the week.
Thursday evening guests of Mrs. Lorene Schulke included Mrs. Walter Sump Mrs. Dean Wohlhutter and Dean of St Paul Mrs. Frieda Grieme and Miss Alma Grieme Also noted were guests from Chandler Ariz Cheryl and Douglas Tabor of Omaha visiting grandparents in the area and other local hosting families.
Local residents share visits and family gatherings across Cedar Falls Estherville Alta Aurelia Storm Lake and Cherokee with shows of community ties. Notable events include anniversaries dinners and supper guests among families such as the Hinkeldeys Hogrefes Griemes Radkes and Mahlers amid summer dates in July.
The Aurelia Iowa town council in Cherokee County will convene August 11 1971 at 7 30 P M at City Hall to hear taxpayers for or against the 1972 budget estimate. The notice summarizes budget receipts and expenditures on file with the Town Clerk and notes copies of Schedule 631 A are available to taxpayers.
