The Sentinel publishes the annual Budget Estimate for the Town of Aurelia detailing expenditures for 1962 1963 and proposed 1965. A hearing on the proposed Budget is set for August 11 at 7 p.m. where taxpayers may speak for or against the proposal. The Budget Estimate appears on page 7.
Coach Duane Buttenob's Bull dog baseball team erased a late rally to lose 9-8 to Odebolt Arthur in the sectional semifinal at Schaller last Wednesday and end their state tournament bid.
In a doubleheader night Aurelia beat Sanborn 6-3 as Bill Estes pitched a strong game with eight strikeouts. Earlier Odebolt-Arthur used a six-run seventh to spoil a Bulldog rally while Tom Coombs and Roger Jones led the hit parade. The Midgets blanked Truesdale 10-0 behind Mark Ammons no hitter with 15 Ks, advancing toward Sioux Rapids in the Sportsman tournament.
The Aurelia Lassies announce a local achievement show to be held Tuesday July 28 at the shelter house. Entries must be brought by 11 30 to allow judging to begin at noon. The event opens to the public at 3 30.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Buddenhagen and Nancy of Phoenix were guests at a Sunday picnic dinner at Aurelia Park. Others present included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hesse and Mr.
A social afternoon gathering hosted by the Buddenhagen and Hasenwinkel families drew relatives from Cherokee Hartley Renwick Manilla Denver and Aurelia. After games, refreshments were served as the event concluded.
