Aftonettes 4-H Elects Queen Candidate at July Meeting
The Aftonettes 4-H club met July 1 at the Community building with 18 members, 4 guests, and 1 leader. Carolyn Buddenhagen was elected the club's candidate for queen of the Cherokee County Fair. Gateway signs for 4-H members will be available at 50 cents each. Demonstrations covered Coconut Oatmeal Cookies, Cake, Tuna Salad, and talks on Vegetables and Salads. Mrs. Howard Anderson named as new club leader. Lunch was served by members and mothers. Immanuel Lutheran Church service noted at Aurelia area with Rev. A Noack of Alta conducting Communion.

Country Ramblers 4-H Club Meeting Notes
The Country Ramblers 4-H club met July 8 at Norma and Beverly Otto home. Demonstrations on jelly and angel food cake were given by Norma, Beverly, Donna and Linda Peterson. Beverly Otto presided. Roll call was a saying on etiquette. They planned the local Achievement show for August 2 at the Aurelia Shelter House and selected Linda Peterson as candidate for Cherokee County Fair Queen.

Mt Olive Baptist Church announces summer schedule and camp
The Mt Olive Baptist Church led by Delbert Cowley, pastor, is located eight miles south and two miles east of Cherokee off Highway 5. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The message is The Law of the Spiritual Life. A Baptist Youth Camp runs July 20 to 25 at Ingham Lake. Additional activities include Mt Clive Bible Study and Aurelia Cherokee Bible Study Prayer meetings on Thursday evenings.
