The town reports on amateur baseball players Lamar and JJ Chapman receiving offers for match games in the northwest. A new Maple river bridge project begins with two hundred dollars for grading and one hundred piles for the bridge. Local concerns include horse hitching traps, dog tax, and a proposed county attorney candidate A R Molyneux. The courthouse vote was defeated and Cherokee’s shared concerns over county development are discussed. A drowning accident near the Little Sioux river ends with Olaf Nelson missing and Benjamin Butterfield seeking help from Cherokee authorities, body recovered the next day.
