Drought Won’t Endanger Nation Food Supply Says Experts
Specialists from the AAA and the U S Department of Agriculture say the food supply remains secure despite the drought. Even if wheat output drops to 500 million bushels the carryover would stay around 135 million, keeping total supply near 760 million with annual needs at about 625 million. Government actions remove low quality cattle and cows, aiding surplus reduction while wheat and cattle persist in ample quantities.
