Des Moines feud over mural and lumber at state fair
The state capitol conflict dubbed the fairgrounds feud pits Democratic State Chairman Jake More against fair board secretary Lloyd Cunningham. More accuses a $13,000 mural of Iowa farming being cut up for woodwork while Cunningham notes More criticized board lumber use. The dispute traces to war restoration prices and lumber choices. The Iowa state fair will resume this year for the first time since 1941.
