Walter Peterson of Pitcher township was elected president at the Cherokee County Farm Bureau annual meeting held December 20 in the Catholic church basement. More than 300 members attended. a free dinner was served to paid up members. J. L. Boatman of Iowa State College Extension Service spoke on land use and the National Land Use Policy. Other officers elected include F. G. Mossman vice president Floyd Anderson secretary and Charles Nelson treasurer. Liberty Club Members Win Record Awards in Cherokee County
Lloyd Carlson and Ernest Nelson of Liberty township received gold and silver medals from the Chicago Producers Livestock Commission Association for top records in the Baby Beef Club and Market Pig Club. Winners scored 92 out of 100 for project work, completeness, accuracy, economic results, wellness, and the submitted story. The medals were presented at the annual Farm Bureau Meeting held at the Catholic church basement on Thursday, December 30.

Couple Weds on New Year Eve in Cherokee
Miss Dorothy Anderson and Wayne Flickinger both of Cherokee were married New Year's Eve at the Presbyterian manse with Rev. R. C. Mitchell officiating. The ceremony occurred at eight o'clock. Mrs. Flickinger is a Rockwell City graduate and teacher in Cherokee county schools. Mr. Flickinger is the county clerk reelected in November. They will reside in Cherokee.
