Marcus led the Atom scoring with 18 points as the Atoms finished 7–10 on the season, and Elaine Winterhoff led the girls with 22 points in their final high school game.

Community observes Niemeier anniversary at family dinner
Mr and Mrs Arnold Niemeier celebrated their 49th anniversary with a Sunday family dinner at the home of their daughter, Leroy Matthew, joined by relatives from Galva Cherokee and Sioux City. Aurelia Temple No 72 Pythian Sisters met with officers listed and an original poem read by Mabel Johnson. Lunch for the group was provided by Mabel Johnson and Laddell Rapp. Mrs Myrtle Whiting reported. The Aurelia Federated Garden Club held its first meeting of the season.
