Mrs Swisher held a large public stock and grain sale praised for good prices while Graham Bros sold about 40 Duroc Jersey sows near Mt Ohive, and Allen Neville offered 50 Duroc Jersey Iowa hogs two miles west of Diamond Center with strong turnout and favorable terms. The February Men’s Club gathering at Good Hope church featured Dr Wolding on public health, stressing its importance and the need for further legislative action.
John A Hollingsworth and Hilda Youngstrom wed in Tekamah Nebraska on July 2 last year. The couple, now residing here, will live on a farm near Alta after April. Emmet Holmes and Herbert Nelson will switch depot duties at Cherokee and Alta respectively. Roy Wilkinson buys land north of Mrs Conner’s home to build a house this summer. A school meeting at the Presbyterian church featured State Superintendent Deyo on consolidation. A H Stivers plans Boise Idaho move or potential sale of Alta music store interests. Edward Nelson cattle to Chicago. A. Fraser and others ship sheep to Chicago while sightseeing in the windy city. Our annual broad sow sale scheduled for February 25, 1914, at Woodland stock farm near Galva Iowa by C. A. Davis & Son.
Miss Florence Russeat visited with Miss Cora Davis over Sunday. Algy Lindsar returns home from Agricultural rating and will help with farming. Andrew Nordstrom travels to Sioux City on business. R H W Hech leaves for Cherokee for Farmers Tastitat. Mr Mrs T L Reston return from Connectionville where they visited Mrs Kenyon’s sister.
Notice is given that a document said to be the last will of Ernest Bedke, deceased, was filed and read. A hearing on proof is set for March 2, 1914, in the district court. Clerk F J Carpenter signs, with Molyneux and Maher as attorneys.
