Neighbors gather for a farewell party at John Swanson home. Rev Liming and community members attend meetings and birthdays, with gifts and meals shared. Anna Nordstrom visits from Afton township, Maurice Peterson sick, Nordstroms visit Silve township, and Danie son farewell party planned for March first. Four-H leaders training noted.
Residents attended a card party with Mr. and Mrs. Gart Amings and others at the Bilbuoin home. many local families hosted guests and visited shops in Cherokee Aurelia and Storm Lake. Daily activities include business calls, visits, and school note that Elk No. 4 grades enjoyed a two day vacation during eighth grade exams.
Henry Dorr of Marcus offers 24 Poland China bred sows at his Friday sale. John T. Edson of Lakeside Farm Storm Lake holds a February 18 sow sale. E H Mills plans a February 17 closing-out sale on C J Buddenhagen farm near Aurelia with livestock, machinery and household items. Emmett W Ammons advertises a February 15 closing-out farm sale near Aurelia with horses cattle hogs and equipment.
County Agent C G Turner invites farmers to the Cherokee K P Halls for a 10 o clock meeting presenting the 1932 price outlook. Extension specialists from Iowa State College will discuss demand supply and price trends to help farmers plan production and marketing for the coming year.
Horace Blom, 15, a young Alta farmer, was found dead in his family car in the garage of the Blom farm. The engine ran, doors closed, monoxide gas fatal. Notes suggested suicide. he had left his mother in town and promised to return. Local authorities investigated but found no immediate explanation.
The Maple Valley township trustees met at the William Frederick home on Monday. Local residents and visitors from Storm Lake and Galva were noted, with several households hosting guests over the week. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller on Friday, February 5, and community members attended a surprise gathering for William Brown and son Virgil on February 6, with prizes awarded in 500 and a farewell to move to Schaller.

Mr and Mrs Fred Wogahn were surprised on their silver wedding anniversary last Sunday at their country home east of Aurelia at four pm. Relatives attended with well filled baskets lunch was served. Silver decor featured the number 25 on napkins and cake. Rev E F Webking officiated. Present were members of the Leitz Zwemke Winterhoff Dyslin Sump and Wogahn families and others from Aurelia Alta Schaller and Cherokee.
