Butcher Hogs Vault to New High at Sioux City Market
Butcher hogs jumped to a new high of 11.95 on the Sioux City market Tuesday as sows topped 11.15 the previous day. Slaughter cattle held steady with top at 13.75 and most lots between 11.00 and 12.50. Lambs traded near steady, with a top of 11.85 on Monday and Tuesday. Cherokee county shippers including Chas Schulke and Aaron Holderness marketed hogs and cattle at the Sioux City market last week.

The government places Goodwill Industries in one of eight preferred salvage groups, joining the Wall Street Mission of Sioux City and local church groups assisting in collecting discarded articles. Speed Tax Warns Car Owners and Bees Take Flight
A column cites tests on 12 cars showing 20 to 40 mph yields 18 to 22 mpg while 70 mph drops to 12 mpg and engines use seven times more oil at 55 mph than at 30 mph. Pheasant shelters in Waverly basements as driver recalls hit

The independent Aurelia basketball squad won two of three games. They edged Hayes 47 46 at Hayes and beat Swanson of Storm Lake 62 34 at Alta.
