Jolly Jones members gathered at Mrs. Erwin Mark home for the annual pot-luck and Christmas party with fifteen attendees and guest Mrs. Rydstrom of Alta. Contests awarded prizes to Mrs. Cecil Robinson Mrs. Archie MacKay Jr Mrs. Erwin Mark and Mrs. Harley McKinnis.
Trinity Lutheran Church Alta Iowa releases a busy schedule led by Pastor John W Oberg. Readings include a Dec 22 730 pm Trinity Choir with earlier start for choir members and Dec 25 6 am traditional Christmas worship with three anthems and a Christmas message The Christmas Star There is no Sunday School or regular church service. They asked the seller for permission to pay off early.
John and Mary faced onerous interest if they paid off early on a seven room house while the five room seller could refuse such prepayment. They chose to accept the deal despite tax implications and lack of an advance payoff option.
