The Aurelia school begins Monday August 31 with enrollment only on day one. Buses run about 8:00 with return around 10:30. First graders should be six, or near six, and new students report to the office for assignment.
Siux City firm Booth and Ohlson plus another Sioux City firm were the low bidders on highway No 5 paving from Aurelia to Alta. The project was split into two sections 2.4 miles through Aurelia east at 55 677 dollars and 6.3 miles through Alta west at 145 444 dollars. The commission expects paving this summer.
Gordon Cornwall marked his first birthday with a Thursday gathering at home. Ten children and their mothers enjoyed treats and conversation. guests included Jerry Deyloff and Gaylene Matz dorf, among others. Lunch capped the afternoon.

William Walter, pastor, invites worshippers to St. Pauls Lutheran Church for a 10:45 a.m. service featuring the sermon The Voice in the Storm based on Psalm 46 10. Sunday school begins at 10. Visitors welcome and subscriptions encouraged by The Sentinel as authorized agent for Sioux City papers.
