County Convention call and delegate apportionment
The Cherokee County Republican voters are urged to send delegates to a county convention at the Cherokee Court House on Saturday August 13 1887 at 2 p m to choose eight delegates for the Republican State Convention in Des Moines on August 24 1887 Representation is by township and by votes cast for Frank D Jackson as Secretary of State in November 1886 Townships listed with delegate counts and total notes Diamond and Diamond Center townships also referenced plus state items on suffrage farm ownership and legal actions and a Haddock Memorial M and E Church project progress.
