Robert Pingel son of Mr and Mrs Hary Pingel of Aurelia received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at Wayne State College Wayne Neb during the April graduation exercises held Friday He was among graduates cited at the ceremony.
Aurelia's track team won two meets last week. At Tomahawk Relays in Cherokee they scored 39 to win Class B while Scranton and Havelock-Plover trailed. At Rock Rapids Central Lyons Relays Aurelia captured Class C with 87 of 112 points, led by Leonard, Nelson, Johnson, and Rapp scoring multiple firsts and records.
The Aurelia Golf club auxiliary will hold an organizational meeting at the new club house Tuesday April 28 at 9 30 am The ladies summer program will be planned and coffee will be served at the close of the meeting The Aurelia Golf course is open though not all greens and tees are ready for play Temporary tees and greens are available for those who wish to play early Regular greens are expected to be ready soon.
Selene C. Lighter of Battle Creek was admitted to St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City Tuesday for X rays and tests. He underwent back surgery Monday and will stay in the hospital for a week or 10 days. Room 202 N at St. Joseph's Hospital is listed as his address.

Iona College in Sioux Falls spent the weekend with Mrs. Art Heick in Cherokee. Guests included Mr and Mrs Kenneth Ahnenholtz and Jeane Kay of Denver visiting Grover Bell’s family. Doris Sands of Sioux City and Jay Loftus of Lawton joined a dinner at Bob Forbes home, with several local relatives noted in attendance.
