Quimby High Regains Lead in Meriden Tri Meet
Quimby high school track team won the Meriden triangular meet Friday with 69 points, Aurelia 60, Meriden 81. Bell led Aurelia with a top finish, while Richardsons took third in the mile. Wayne Lockin claimed third in the shot put, Whitney placed third in the 60 yard dash, McLaughlin second in the 220 yard dash and tied for third in the high jump. Morgan won both the discus and javlin throws, setting a 130 foot 5 inch mark.

Edward Daniels Dies in Worthington Minnesota
Edward Daniels died at his Worthington Minnesota home on a Tuesday morning April 13 after hours of angina pectoris. Born April 3 1858 in Boston he was 68 years and 10 days old. He lived in Aurelia Iowa before moving to Worthington Minnesota where he supervised a farm for seven years. Funeral services were held at the Worthington home Friday at 2 30 p m with Rev J H Fearey of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was in Worthington cemetery. He leaves his wife Annie Jane Thompson five sons John L Daniels Frank E and Rene and one daughter Sybil Story and five brothers. A large gathering attended the service from nearby towns.
