Mr and Mrs Karl Brugman entertained at a reception in their home Sunday afternoon honoring their son Kevin’s Confirmation. About thirty guests from Hartley Spirit Lake Webb Sioux Rapids Spencer and Aurelia attended after Confirmation services at the Congregational United Church of Christ. A dinner followed for the class members and the United Methodist Women held a guest night Thursday at 8 PM in Fellowship Hall with Mrs Charles Grigsby as door.
Mrs. Hugo Hucke welcomed guests and opened with prayer. Members voted to fund a Liberty Tree memorial planting for Rev. Stanworth. Worship center planning by Mrs. Carlos Bryan and Mrs. Gene Kline. Devotions by Mrs. Lou Pfaff on Love. Hymns chosen by Mrs. James Brinkman and she sang What Wondrous Love is This. Guest speaker Mrs. Catherine Bonham spoke on He Loves Me He Loves Me Not. Lunch committee listed. Embroidery Club to meet April 16 at 2:00 p.m.
Mr and Mrs Keith Radke of Brown Dier Wisconsin welcomed a son Scott David born April 2. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Edgar Radke. Mrs Ralph Grieme Mrs John Grieme and Mrs Harvey spent Saturday in Omaha. Brett Shade of Omaha stayed the past week with the David Friedrich home. Mr and Mrs Les Buckholz of Spencer are the parents of a daughter.
Emilee Marie was born April 1 at Spencer hospital weighing 8 pounds 2 ounces. Grandparents are Arnold Buckholz of Hartley and Martin Hinkeldey, great grandmother Emma Glienke of Storm Lake. Numerous relatives and friends appeared at family gatherings and visits in the week.
