A Hamlin and Mrs Clark transact county business on Tuesday while Sam Miller rents his farm to his son in law Joe Heath. Chrig Johnson and Jeng Andersen perform local work as a building and painting push, with hog houses and a large barn under construction nearby. Forty confirmations occur at the Lutheran church eight miles west of town last Sunday. Markets list wheat oats and butter, and carpenters from Elkhorn finish a building for Johnson and Carstensen. A sick baby, ill spouses, and community aid mark a busy week with rail traffic, grain shipments, and a planned marble Jersey cow sculpture for the creamery grounds.
