Death of Earl Shular Surfaces in Hillsboro
Earl Shular died of tuberculosis at his Hillsboro home Friday evening at 5 o clock. He had suffered months with the disease and recently returned from Colorado. He had earlier owned the Hillsboro Times and later the Mellett Hustler which became the Newtown Enterprise after a move to Newtown. Survived by a wife two children Mildred and Robert and a mother. Funeral conducted at the Methodist church Sunday at 2 30 p m by Rev W K Ingalls of Newtown.

Mrs. Sarah Butler known as Grandma Butler died at her son Charles Butler’s home in West Lebanon Sunday evening at age 87 after months of illness due to pneumonia and age. Survived by son Charles and two daughters Mrs Scott Belangen and Mrs Walter Higgenbotham, along with relatives and friends. Husband Robb Butler predeceased her. Funeral at the Christian church Tuesday at one with Rev. Philips officiating, burial in the local cemetery.

Kiger Loses Suit Over Damaged Arm Against Dr Cook
In Warren Circuit Court last week Guy Kiger sued Dr. Cook of Boswell for 5000 dollars claiming damages after a broken arm failed to knit after setting. The jury found for the defendant citing Kiger's abnormal condition as cause. Also reported is the death of Warren Arvel Hambright, two, son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Hambright, and his burial in Cooper Cemetery near Veedersburg on Tuesday.

Shawnee township saw two fires Saturday and Sunday. The D N Foster residence near Rob Roy lost most of the roof and several rooms but was insured and repairable. Abe Auter and family lost their Fanny Jones place home with only partial goods saved. insured values were $2200 for Auter and $2200 for the Jones house, estimated at $5000.

Oxford Boy Killed by Train
Hugh Emerson 19 died Sunday night at Templeton while attempting to board a west bound freight on the Lake Erie Western. He worked at a Templeton garage and planned with friends to ride to Boswell for a passenger train back to Oxford. His body was taken to his mother in Oxford. he was a recent Oxford High School graduate.

Rector and Brewer Acquitted in Covington Theft Case
Jerry Rector of this city was tried for stealing wood from John Huffman in Covington but the state failed to prove the charge. Judge Schoonover acquitted him. A pending charge against Rector and his nephew Archie Brewer involved a canvas tarpaulin sold to Etrick Perlman. Charles Rhode filed the affidavit. They said the canvas was found on the road between here and Williamsport and were released due to lack of evidence.
