Bank Property Sold for Eight Thousand Dollars
The Central National Bank sold the lot and brick building it used before its new structure to S. D. Messner. The property now houses the Arcade theater and extends to Fifth street with a width of 23 feet. Messner bought it as an investment for 8000 dollars. The lower floor is rented to Mr. Williamson and the upper rooms will be made into an office suite for future tenants.

Lost valuable mare in Independence road accident
Jad Steadman stopped with Independence Girl when a frightened mare jolted the cart after a car driven by Sheriff Cog Hill. A shaft broke, the mare was fatally injured by a thrust, and the filly bled to death. The mare, valued at $1,000, was a half sister to Independence Boy. the hide went to Attica for an overcoat.

Hittle Wins Theatorium Suit Before Justice McConahay
In a Wednesday hearing at the council chamber Justice McConahay ruled that B F Hittle owns the theater paraphernalia including the show outfit minus the front and ticket office. Corwin Colvert must pay $25 damages for detaining the property and interfering with a sale. An appeal was planned to the circuit court.

On petition by L A Hippach of Chicago the Indiana Sand and Gravel Co was placed in receivership by Warren Circuit Court Judge Berry naming Wm Woodhall Jr as receiver. The plant, second largest among five local operations, has over $100000 invested and will likely operate this season with minimal disruption.

Death Claims Infant Frances Irene De Selms
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Omar De Selms, six months old, died Friday afternoon after a brief illness and convulsions from an internal hemorrhage due to bowel congestion. Funeral services were held Sunday at the home conducted by Rev. C. W. Postill, with burial in Riverside cemetery.

Sent to Jail for Stealing Wood
Jerry Rector was found guilty in city court after stealing wood from John Hoffman and sentenced by Mayor Reed to ten days in jail and one dollar plus costs. His release will lead to another arrest for stealing a canvas tarpaulin from Charles W. Rhode, with Perlman junk yard ownership cited.
