A new cement products company owned by W. P. Carmichael and associates will operate in Attica with Will Judy as superintendent. It will use Jaggers process to cast dense waterproof cement items and even entire buildings. The plant, located near the Carmichael gravel pit, will begin with about a dozen workers and expand.

In Covington the Fountain County progressives convened at the courthouse during wheat harvest drawing unexpected turnout. A 36 car motorcade paraded around the square as the Newtown band played and the gathering organized with Chas. R. Martin as permanent chair. The group held a formal session at 11:00 with Rev W E McKinzie giving the blessing and Harry F Ross named permanent secretary.

Insecticide Maker Fined by Federal Court
The Dr. E. Detchon Medical Company of Crawfordsville was fined 200 dollars plus costs in a federal court in Indianapolis for violating the insecticide law. Government witnesses said its "sanitary lotion" sold for 14 dollars a bottle is a weak sheep dip with manufacturing and overhead costs only a few cents per bottle.

Waynetown Holds Lincoln Chautauqua Event
The Lincoln chautauqua at Waynetown was held this week and proved successful for its first effort. The tent was placed behind the new schoolhouse. The program started Monday afternoon and ends tonight. Two program speakers have appeared at Attica chautauquas, Dr. George Lamont Cole who spoke in 1907 and Senator Wm. E. Mason who substituted in 1910.
