Postmaster Macoughtry plans to press Congressman Morrison for a pension boost for George J. Wolfe, one of the area’s oldest veterans. The supreme court reversed a Benton circuit court ruling that Miss Julia Mitchell of Earl Park receive $400 damages from the C. and E. I. railroad for guiding a 14 year old passenger off at the wrong stop. Mitchell walked 35 miles to Coal Bluff overnight, costing nerves and wear. The reversal means no damages awarded.

Memorial Day Services Follow Planned Program
Memorial Day observances proceeded Saturday with a full program and large turnout. Elder Jackman delivered an apt address as about 200 school children 32 veterans and 40 Boy Scouts joined a parade then moved from McDonald park to Riverside cemetery in carriages escorted by the National band and uniformed Scouts. Paul Stewart of Kickapoo Sand and Gravel Co. won 75 dollars in Justice McConahay's court against United States Express for failing to deliver two sprocket wheels and a chain from Aurora Illinois. Delays forced a two day plant shutdown and forced purchase of gravel from a neighboring Indiana firm while wheels disappeared and reappeared in Chicago. Chas. K. Auto plunges into Coal Creek near Waynetown Hillsboro
An auto load from Illinois returning from Speedway races ran off the grade at the Coal Creek bridge between Waynetown and Hillsboro Saturday night.
