Veteran Preacher Wesley Clark Dies After Illness
The Rev. Wesley Clark, a longtime Methodist preacher in this region, died at his West Lafayette home Monday afternoon at age 66 after a brief illness. He served Newtown and Shawnee Mound charges, retired in 1907, and later supplied churches including State Line. He was brother of Mrs. Clement of Shawnee Mound and Miss Carrie Derrick of this city. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon after a police ambulance conveyed him home during a ministerial meeting where he spoke prior to his decline.

Lafayette Man Falls From Train After Divorce
George D. Kuhnle a Lafayette carpenter fell from the tender of Wabash passenger No 1 near West Point Wednesday afternoon. He suffered a severe head wound and body bruises and was taken to the West Point depot then to Lafayette for treatment at St Elizabeth hospital. His wife had secured a divorce from him Monday and he rode with John Friend on the tender hoping to reach the western states.

Old Flour Mill Sold Near Hillsboro on Coal Creek
P. M. Williams sold the old flour mill on Coal Creek near Hillsboro to John Kerr and George Sterns for about 2200 dollars. The mill, owned by Williams family for around seventy five years, thrived in its early days but failed to compete with roller mills and closed. The new owners plan to grind feed rather than flour after renovation.

Schoolhouse Burned Near Odell Leaves Classrooms Empty
A defective fire destroyed the McMillin school east of Odell on Monday afternoon. Passersby and 16 pupils saved books and part of the seats. Sugar Grove school nearby was prepared for use as three rooms of the McMillin building burned, and Trustee Davis arranged transport for pupils.

Former Attican resident Hase imes dies near Judyville
Hase imes formerly of Attica died Sunday morning at his sister Mrs. Ira Lamme's home on the H. W. Briggs farm northwest of Judyville. He was over 64, leaves a wife and four children. Rev. Hole of Pine Village conducted the funeral at the Lamme home, with interment in Rainsville cemetery.
