Atlantic Packing Plant Purchase Prompts Local Move

The old Atlantic packing house grounds near the north city limits were bought from L. B. Doud & Co of Chicago by Geo. Jillich Sr. of town. J. Sherwood of Doud’s agent closed the deal. Jillich urged local investment to revive the plant, create a market for Cass County products, and provide jobs, hoping Atlantic business leaders will fund a full operation soon. The action is seen as a constructive step to keep the facility busy and profitable.

Atlantic band to headline Friday concert for Sunday school

The Atlantic brass band and western Iowa talent present a Friday Oct 11 concert at the Methodist church under the M E Sunday school to benefit the library. Admission 25 cents, 15 cents for children under 12. Proceeds fund the library and band upkeep. Walter L Edwards and Cora Williams wed September 30 in Atlantic with Rev E S Hill officiating.
