The first real football game in Atlantic this season ended 20 to 0 as Atlantic defeated Anita in a return match at the ball park. Truax Hully Asay and Helms starred with early rushing and standout plays, delivering an authoritative win for Atlantic.
Laura A wife of J A Patrick died yesterday morning at 120 North Tenth street after a long illness of consumption. She leaves a husband and a 11 year old son. Body to be shipped to Lewis Indiana for burial in the family burying ground with her mother Mrs M M Smith and siblings W T and Emma Smith accompanying the remains. Funeral held at the M E church in Lewis at 2 PM today.
Claude Asa travels to Neola on the noon flyer while Fred Mrs. O W Brown attends to Des Moines business. Dee Bales of Cumberland visits Atlantic. The American Mechanics opened last evening at the G A R hall with speeches music and readings. Rev W E Stanley argued for selective immigration stressing patriotism education of newcomers and equal treatment for foreign born citizens while opposing criminal and vicious entrants. He noted no hostility to law abiding foreigners and highlighted the order's aim of patriotism industry and sobriety. Rev Mrs Weatherford contributed entertaining remarks on the order and its work. The event was described as instructive and promotive of good.

For three hours a single charge powered nine acetylene burners, costing about three fifths of a cent per hour per burner as merchants toured the apparatus.

Terms cash for one half and credit of six months or one year with bankable note. A $20 deposit with each proposal to guarantee bid. Right reserved to reject all bids.
