Cincinnati Tank Explosion Kills Six In Major Disaster
A massive gaso line tank explosion at 480 482 Walnut Street in Cincinnati last night wrecked a six story building. At least six people were killed and many injured as debris trapped victims, with rescuers cutting through foundations of adjacent buildings to reach the trapped. Mrs Drachs survived after being pinned under a beam, while others remained missing among the ruins. Fire crews, reforming through the rubble, recovered bodies and cared for the injured as thousands gathered around Fountain Square and the government building. Authorities determined an electric lights plant in two saloons ignited gasoline, triggering the blast and collapse.
