Victory for the Christian Endeavor at the Presbyterian Assembly
In Saratoga on May 27 the Christian Endeavor won a decisive victory in the Presbyterian General Assembly. The group pushed to curb the committee on relations of young people to the church, discharging it and adopting a broad program to read their statements in societies. A five member committee was created to report on Brotherhood of St Andrew and Philip and on boys brigades, with plans for closer inspection of mission requisitions and for self support within each synod. The assembly also discussed home missions and the potential shift toward synodical sustenance and retrenchment methods to address debt.
