Local items include sale of 86 young brood sows by H A Barryusny, various residents traveling for business, and upcoming county events. Also notes on Elks/LoD activities, theater and entertainment, school and church visits, commercial changes, and farm news including sugar beet tests and a forthcoming Cass County Farmers Institute event.
Superintendent McFarland and Attorney Carroll Wright of the C B I a& P met with the city committee and council to discuss the new station. As press time no agreement exists with each side seeking more than the other is willing to grant.
The council met in regular session with the mayor and all members present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Reports of city officers were read and placed on file. The fire department report on C. W. Needles was read and referred back. The railroad depot committee reported on requirements from the railroad company and discussion followed. Council approved a tabled resolution from City Attorney Goodspeed. Butler's city map committee refused the demanded price of 100. Bills were read and allowed. Council adjourned to 8:30 p.m. today when railroad officials will attend.
R F Kiehl of Anita and GC Hook of Anita visited the city on business. R B McGeehan, Tommie Meredith, J M Bartlett of Brayton, J B Hodgson, and Cha A Higgins of Grissgold were in town or on business trips. Lee Pratt hauled stock to Chicago. Mrs D Smart and Mrs M E Scott returned from travels. Railroad officials returned east after meetings with city officials and business men. The week of prayer in several churches drew large attendances and spiritual impact.
From January first the firm name R. H. Bailey grocer was changed to R. H. Bailey & Son Cecil Bailey acquiring an interest in the store. Peter Heiken died after a lingering illness at his home on South Chestnut aged 67. Funeral Sunday at German church. The O U A M lodge, six months old, elected officers for the coming year and were installed by State Deputy Ayres. listing officers follows in the lodge room at the A B R hall.
Yesterday afternoon Deacon Janick Dulson was elected in a warm gathering at 519 Walnut Street celebrating his eighty second birthday. About forty Baptist friends shared refreshments and a fine supper. Dolson, born January 6, 1818 in Steuben County, New York, came to Atlantic in 1881 and has since made many friends, leading a temperate, exemplary life.
Former supervisor Charles R. Hunt and expert L. L. Tilden led a thorough review of Jounty Treasurer Brown’s books, delivering an excellent county record. The audit cost the county about 25.60 dollars, with clerk McConvill’s books also in excellent shape and ready for turnover. City officials consider Atlantic Railroad depot changes, street closures, and new infrastructure to near Windsor Hotel, with a likely ordinance to follow and work starting in about two months. The total city expenditure is projected to reach at least 25,000 dollars.

A vintage ad proclaims Buckilen's Aruba salve as the best remedy for cuts bruises sores ulcers salt rheum fever sores tetter chapped skin chilblains corns and all eruptions with a money back guarantee or a reload. Price 260 per box. Sold by Vic Emmert & Co.
A jumble of remedies for teething pain coughs and colds promotes Mrs Winslows Soothing Syrup DeWitts Witch Hazel Salve Grain-O and Karl's Clever Root Tea with testimonials from Vic Emmert J M Thirlwend W H Norton and others, urging use for teething indigestion coughs skin eruptions and constipation. The advertisements tout price points 25c and 15c 26c per package and claim quick relief and permanent cures.
The store advertises deep cuts on clothing during a stocktaking period to reduce inventory and raise cash. It claims the best garments are available at about half their value and urges buyers to act while supplies last. A separate note promotes One Minute Cough Cure as a universal remedy for coughs colds and lung troubles.
The TeLecrara has received Cardus Weather Chart and Calendar 1806 from Chattanooga Medicine and Co. It shows twelve sheets 18 by 20 inches fastened with a gilt strip and brass hanger. Each month features large readable figures and De Voo weather forecasts daily plus moon phases and legal holidays. Copies may be secured for 10 one cent stamps to Chattanooga Tennessee.
