Hanson Harris Obituary Reflects Christian Character and Orphan Years
Hanson Harris born May 6 1568 died April 3 1895 at age 26 years 10 months 6 days. Orphan since youth after parents died in 1884 and 1885 he lived with his Uncle Hon Silas Wilson Lafayette Ind where he managed Union Pacific Tea Company work. He returned home in poor health and died of consumption after skilled care and devoted nursing. He united with the M E church during study at Western Normal College Shenandoah under Rev Wickersham who later led the local church. His life is praised as beautiful and symmetric Christian character with lifelong care from Silas Wilson and his wife, and steadfast support from Lee and relatives. funeral held at the uncle's home with Rev Wickersham and Rev Crooks assisting. Supreme Court Tosses Out Cass County Case
Dismissed. Robert B. Taylor sued Ida Taylor in a Cass county case that reached the supreme court on petition. Taylor claimed lost love led him to deed substantial property to his wife, who then left him. Both district and supreme courts held the property belonged to her.

Whitfield Sanford Moved to Atlantic Iowa Amid Tax Grievance
From York Nebraska comes word that capitalist Whitfield Sanford has moved his residence to Atlantic Iowa after a disputed year 1894 tax assessment. Sanford, displeased with high valuations and taxes, paid in protest portions of $1,583.64 while appealing the matter to the June board meeting. He notes earlier payments of $403.27 in 1891, $4,244.04 in 1892, and $253.94 in 1893, urging fair treatment by Atlantic tax gatherers.

Barry St John Kill Wife Ex Governor's Son in Oklahoma
Barry St John son of ex Governor St John of Kansas and a member of the last Oklahoma legislature shot and killed his wife at his home two miles west of the city. He claimed a letter to her from an unknown writer prompted the act. He drove out, confronted her, and the gun discharged, killing her. She was Miss May Felbon, about 28, mother of two. He is about 35, a lawyer who has lived in Oklahoma since 1889.
