Impeachment Vote Clears Senate Action in Lincoln Session
In a swift joint session on April first the Nebraska legislature passed articles of impeachment against the board of public lands and buildings with only four dissenting votes. A five member committee was named to prosecute the board before the supreme court, and potential replacements for impeached officers were discussed under Article 4 Section 14. The day also saw debate on the general appropriation bill and a large cut in the library project funds, with only $72,000 for the State University library surviving.

Wreck injures sixteen in Rio Grande pass crash at Leadville
A westbound Rio Grande passenger train wrecked near Leadville Colorado after leaving tracks in a heavy snowstorm. Sixteen passengers were seriously injured including Mrs. Haywood Sacramento and J B Dalton with multiple injuries. The crowded train with six sleepers slid 10 to 15 feet down an embankment. Many passengers, mostly Phillips excursion party members, suffered before rescue and hotel care.

Great Longevity. Eliza Gray dies at 87 in Atlantic
Mrs Eliza Gray formerly Anson born November 6 1805 in Dutchess County New York died March 28 1893 in Atlantic Louisiana in her 88th year She was the oldest of seven children and survived by three brothers and two sisters She married Moses Gray about seventeen and lived fifty five years as mother to two sons who died young and four daughters All children except one preceded her in death After her husband she lived with daughter Mrs Dr A P Macomber in Atlantic Her faith spanned Baptist Christian and Presbyterian churches She welcomed death and the funeral was at First Baptist Church with ministers from three denominations. She was described as a devoted mother and Christian sister.
