John O’Conner, 22, of Clinton died when his car left Highway 136 nine miles northwest of Clinton. Chester A. Mitchell, 49, of Cedar Rapids died at a hospital after a crash on Highway 218. Mrs. Thora Johnson, 75, of Wesley died at Kossuth hospital from shock after an accident six miles southwest of Woden. Mrs. Silas Skow, of Wesley, injured in the same crash, had a broken arm.

Des Moines, Iowa. F R Weston, 44, has been named superintendent of the Des Moines division of the Rock Island railroad with headquarters in Des Moines. He was previously acting superintendent of the road's western division at Fairbury Nebraska.
