Brief funeral services were held at the Wade home for Senator John F. Wade, chairman of the state board of control, who died unexpectedly after a period of illness. He will be buried in Dougherty, Iowa, with services Thursday morning. Wade served six years in the senate and was appointed to the board in 1909. Governor Clarke will appoint his successor, required to be a Democrat from neither the 7th nor 11th districts. Members acknowledge a full board is needed for upcoming work.
