The 65 year old Karl Petersen a Cedar Falls bricklayer was found hanged in the basement of a locked house. Coroner Sidney Smith ruled the death a self caused act after Petersen had been dead about 20 hours before discovery by his cousin Elmer Rasmussen.
A fragment notes Rasmussen's parents in Rochester Minnesota have cared for him for 30 years while authorities continue to study driving safety and the lessons learned.
