The last block of paving on the current Atlantic contract was laid at 2 20 pm completing 51 926 square yards of paving plus 34 083 feet of curb and gutter. The project used 8 000 tons of crushed rock 6 000 tons of sand and gravel and between 70 600 and 75 000 sacks of cement. Fifty six and one half blocks were paved with seventy five workers on average under P C Hansen W H Hansen and R Bob Taylor overseeing. The city foreman Charles Campbell W S Hansen and Nile Graves filled key roles and Atlantic now has thirteen miles of paved streets the most for a town its size in the state.
